Step 1:
HOMEPAGE CHOICE: | More details
  • If you will be using the default homepage (index.html) with the jQuery slideshow, move the "OPTIONAL-No-Animation-Home.htm" into the template "extras" folder.
  • If you will be using the OPTIONAL-No-Animation-Home.htm move the index.html into the "extras" folder and rename the "OPTIONAL-No-Animation-Home.htm" to "index.html". Click link above for more details.
Step 2:
EDIT HEADER: | More Details
Edit the "logo.png" in the picts folder with your logo image. The header background HEX color can be found in the ".css" theme you are using in the "colors" folder. The default font used is 24 point "EngraversGothic BT" with a letter spacing of 29. This will update the header for all full site pages. A "logo.PSD" file is located in the "extras" folder.

If you want to change the "logo.png" image to another file type like .jpg, edit the "header.js" in 1 place from .png to your file name.

OPTIONAL PLAIN TEXT HEADER: To use the text header option, edit the "var logotype" in the "header.js" from "graphic" to "text". Edit the "var LogoText" "Your Website Title" text with your site name.

Step 3:
The "index.html" includes a slideshow application called the "jQuery Cycle Plugin". In the "JQuery-Cycle" folder replace 6 images, "imageJQ-1.jpg" through "imageJQ-6.jpg". Make your images 800 x 350 pixels. This will update the homepage animation. Click the link above for details and options. Edit the "index.html" to change the image sizes or add more images.

NOTE: Try to use a smaller byte sized image for the first image "imageJQ-1.jpg" for faster loading of the homepage. It is best to save these images at medium high quality.

Step 4: *Full & Mobile
EDIT FOOTER: | More Details
Open the "footer.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and edit the "Website Name" text with your company or website name. This will update the footer info on all pages (both full and mobile sites). Edit all ".js" files with a text editor. The "footer.js" also includes links you can edit, or you can add more links as well.

Step 5: *Full & Mobile
Open the "contact.js" file in Notepad and edit the company name, address, phone and fax numbers and e-mail address (edit the email in 2 places). This will update contact info on the "contact" page (both full and mobile sites).

Step 6:

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Step 7: *Full & Mobile
SETTING UP THE LYTEBOX GALLERY: | More Details | Thumbnail Help
If you will be using the Paypal cart pages see "Paypal setup" below on this page. If you are not using the Paypal pages move the 6 "FORMgallery?.htm" pages into the "extras" folder (do this in both the full and mobile website folders).

This template is using Lytebox slideshows in all gallery pages. Click here for setup details. The best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is to replace the .jpg pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names. This will setup both the full and mobile gallery & slideshow images.

Replace the "Fgallery" pictures in the "gallery" folder with full size photos. Replace the "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 100 x 67 pixels, Fgallery images are 650 x 433 pixels, but you can make them any size that you prefer. It is best not to go wider than 100 for the thumbnails for mobile (responsive code in the "style-mobi.css" keeps them at 100 pixels wide). See links above for more details.

Step 8:
SLIDESHOW "slideshows-home.htm" SETUP : | More Details
The "slideshows-home.htm" shows the same images as the gallery page in slideshow form. You can add and remove images in the slideshows in the "slideshows-home.htm" by editing the source code and adding and removing images from the list for each slideshow. There is a separate list of images in the "slideshows-home.htm" source code for each slideshow, "lytebox[show1]" through "lytebox[show6]". View more details.

Step 9:
This template includes a Paypal payment page called "custom.htm". Edit the "" in this page with your Paypal e-mail and you can use this page to accept custom payments by sending clients a link to this page and having them fill in the amount on the payment page (edit the mobile folder "custom.htm" also).

Step 10:
Open the "site_map.htm" and edit "" in the "START SITE SEARCH", "END SITE SEARCH" section with your website domain in (2) places. If you require a more custom search with no ads, check in your Google account for info.

Step 11: *Full & Mobile
Edit the "colortheme.css" to change your template theme (changes both full and mobile site). Edit the color in 2 places (site color and lytebox color). Available color themes are listed at the top of this file. Click link above for details or to custom edit your template colors.

The sidebar "view mobile" color can be edited in the "sidebar-left.js" and the "GALLERIES" and "MAP" in the right sidebar are edited in the "sidebar-right.js". Available icon colors are listed in these files. To have a different theme for the mobile site see the help-mobi.html.

Step 12: *Full & Mobile
Open the "social-links.js" in a text editor and edit the 3 link variables with your link to Twitter and Facebook. The "social-links.js" includes "yes/no" variables to turn off any or all of the social links. Variable editing help. This will update the full site sidebar and the mobile footer social icons.

The social icon background colors are edited in the ".css" theme you are using in the "colors" folder.

Step 13:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Edit the text on all HTML pages. You can use a text editor like Notepad, Expression Web, Dreamweaver or any wysiwyg editor. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text. You will find notes inside each page to help you navigate. NOTE: You will not see the menu, sidebar, footer and header in some software because they are .js include files so you can globally edit the website.

Step 14:
Open each of the HTML pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with your product or service info. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google, Bing and other search engines. Click for optimization help.

Step 15: *Mobile
See the help-mobi.html located in the "mobile" folder.

Step 16:
UPLOAD: | More Details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software or Windows Explorer or your control panel. Be sure to upload all template files and folders and all files inside the folders. You do not need to upload the "extras" folder.

MOBILE OVERLAY: | More Details
All of the full site main template pages include a mobile select overlay. You can see this select box if you make your web browser as narrow as 652 pixels. Files for the mobile select are in the "mobile-select" folder. Edit the "select-overlay.js" to change the overlay text. Edit the "select-overlay.css" to change font sizes and layout. Edit the css color theme files in the "colors" folder to edit the overlay colors.

Turn off the select overlay in the "select-overlay.js" in the "mobile-select" folder. Click link above for details.

Note: The thanks page does not inlcude the overlay.

REMOVING THE MOBILE SITE: To remove the mobile site. Turn off the overlay as outlined above, remove the link to the mobile site in the "site_map.htm" and "index.html" and turn off the mobile icon in the "sidebar-left.js".

WATERMARK SETUP: | More Details *Full & Mobile
You can configure the placement and opacity of the watermark over the image closeup views in the Lytebox gallery by editing the "lytebox.css" in the "lytebox" folder. In the "lytebox" folder is a .gif image called watermark.gif. You can replace this image with your own .gif image. If you change the height of the "watermark.gif" you will need to edit this height in the "lytebox.css".

HOMEPAGE SOUND: | More Details
The homepage (index.html) has a background sound named "home-sound.mp3" and "home-sound.ogg" in the "sounds" folder. Optionally replace both files to have your own sound play on the homepage. You may want to keep the 2 "home-sound" files small so the homepage downloads fast. To remove the homepage background sound delete between the "START SOUND CODE" and "END" notes in the index.html.

THE SIDEBAR .js FILES: | More Details
You can edit the "sidebar-right.js" file in Notepad or any text editor. You will find some options you can change at the top of this file. Images used in the sidebar are named "sidebar-?.jpg" 1 through 6 and can be found in the "picts" folder. If you switch on new images in the sidebar you will need to create new sidebar "xxx.jpg" images. See also "ADDING NEW GALLERY PAGES" on this page. Click here if you want to add new items to the sidebar-right.js.

If you change the notes near the top of the gallery pages, the pictures may no longer line up from one page to the next. To line up the galleries, edit the "min-height" of the ".line-up-pictures" class in the ".css" theme you are using in the "colors" folder.

FONTS: | More Details *Full & Mobile
Edit the ".css" theme you are using in the "colors" folder with any plain text editor to change font sizes and colors. Edit the "div, table" class px size to change the copy on all pages. Change the "title" px size to change all the title sizes. Click above for details. Updates to the color theme .css files will affect both the full and mobile website.

There are a total of 3 menu type files you can add and remove links in.
1. menu.js (top menu)
2. sidebar-right.js (right side small images with links)
3. footer.js (footer links)

You can change the names of the links like "about" or "gallery" to other page names by editing the "menu.js". Only change the one instance of the name and not the name with the ".htm" after it. Whatever you change in the menu.js or any .js file will change every page on the website. You can add more page links by copying one link in the menu.js or footer.js and pasting it right below the next. Be sure to back up your files before you edit them. There are notes in each "menu" .js files to add another link.

To add more gallery pages or image rows see Lytebox gallery support. Optionally edit the "sidebar-right.js" to switch on links to your new gallery pages. 12 links have been setup in the "sidebar-right.js". You will need to create new "sidebar-?.jpg" images in the picts folder if you switch these on.

The "site_map.htm" is linked from the index.html. It is best not to remove this link, or the link to the mobile site, so search engines can find your site map and properly list all your pages when users search at major search engines.

You can set an overall page height for all pages so short pages will not have the copyright info too high on the page. This is set in two classes in the ".css" theme you are using in the "colors" folder. Edit the "min-height" for the ".pageheight" and the ".pageheight-home" classes in the CSS file.

You can set an overall page width for all pages by editing the ".pagewidth" class in the ".css" theme you are using in the "colors" folder. Optionally add left and right borders by editing the "#wrapper" class.
